For some reason I upgraded to Media Player 9. When I select a mp3 within a folder (not trying to open it, just clicking it once), the little media player pops up on the left hand side (within the folder) so that I can easily play the file. I have some rather LARGE mp3s and before I can rename them or view the properties of the mp3, Media Player has to scan the file and prep it for playing in the little player at the left. This is annoying...I don't even use Media Player for anything except video files. How can I turn off this option? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...

Try this, with the problem folder open:
Tools, Folder Options
Under The General Tab, Check "Use Windows Classic folders"
