turbocad install fails/ path too long

receive msg "path exceeds .. allowed by system" when installing turbocad 7. installs fine in win95, me, & nt4. nero cd scan tool finds no errors on turbocad disk.

install fails in win2000. Compatibility mode for xp only?

Well, then you have no options given the OS and software.

I have not used Turbocad. I assume you normally install it to a root folder. Try changing the path to C:\program files\ turbocad.

That assumes you are using C drive for porgrams.

as a temp work-around, i have installed to win95 and then moved turbocad folder to nt4 hard disk. works, but lacks ability to save turbocad settings between sessions. i'm still working on making a normal install in nt4; looks like this long path problem is common. microsoft has hotfix, but i don't want to surrender and pay. thanks for the help. -denis

another work-around for install : a clean install of win2k to a new hard drive and installation went fine. looks as though making turbocad the first install after win2k avoids (not fixes) the "too long ...) issue.

Did you look at the link in #6. You can get TC10 for $15.

No messing around with work arounds.
