Hi all,
Due to a computer crash, I'm forced to use a Compaq Presario from '98. It has Windows 2000 installed on it and has all the latest Windows updates...
I own a Fujifilm Finepix digital camera and, after plugging it in, BUT not until I turn it on, I receive two errors:
There's an issue with, "devinstall" and, "newdev.dll". At the same time, another window immediately opens under it that says there's an issue with, "devinstalluionly" and the same, ".dll".
I read that it might have something to do with installing hardware, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding a resolution.
Can someone please help me out?
Thanks

Because Win2000 is no longer supported you may not get messages to update some item that are not considered critical. You may need a newer version of Windows installer. I doubt it would be part of any service pack. Go to the link below and get everything that is available for Win2000. SP4 & the rollup. Look in your add/ remove to see what version of Windows installer is currently on the computer. The latest version is 3.1. I don't know if that version is compatible with Win2000 but I would suspect it is.

Hi guys,
I appreciate the replies, but, go figure, I managed to resolve the problem on my own. Still, thanks much for the help :-)
