I an trying to share our DSL connection. The problem I am having is when I have both NIC enabled (in the Network and Dial-Up connections window) I get server not found errors when I try to browse the internet. I have tried it with ICS enablerd and disable, the adaptor that connects to the modem has a dynamic IP address, the other has a static of 192.168.0.1. When I disable the network connection that is connected to the LAN the ionternet works correctly. I have tried switching the roles of the NICs, but still had the same problems.

In the words of device manager the network cards are:

-D-Link DFE-530TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter
-Realtek RTL8139(A)-based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter

I also have Sygate Home Network installed (I have not attempted to use it at the same time as ICS)

I have not tried to connect to the internet through this computer from another one.

I followed an online tutorial exactly as described, I have also googled for other information but could not find a problem similar to this.

Does anyone have any idea as to why this is doing this?

Thanx.

I got it fixed, I had to change the IP address of the LAN card to 192.168.1.1 instead of 192.168.0.1, I have read that Win 2k won't let you do that, obviously XP does (98SE ans ME will also let you do that, but I am not sure how).

192.168.1.1 is the 'general use' IP.

It can be set in w2k.

XP is seldom a 'solution' but often the problem.

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.
