Hi,
Some time ago, I removed windows 98 from my system and replaced it with Windows 2000 Server. Ever since, when I attempt to burn an audio CD directly from another CD, the end result is a lot of skipping on the end the product. The CD seems to copy successfully, but there's a lot of skipping noise. This never happened with Windows 98.
I record from my E drive to my F drive (details below) at a speed of 1 x [150 KB/s] using Adaptect software compatible for Win2k and provided by Dell.
My system information:
Computer: Dell Dimension XPS T600r
OS: Windows 2000 Server - Version: 5.0 2195 Service Pack 2 Build 2195
E drive: SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-608
F Drive: SONY CD-RW CRX140E
Burning Software: Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.02d_d5/Adaptect DirectCD 3.01d_d5/Dell Version 6.0
Incidentally, when I try to burn a CD using the “on the fly” option in the NERO software, I get the following message:“Both your source and your destination drive for “on the fly” copy process are connected to the same IDE bus. We strongly recommend that you connect your source and the destination drive to different IDE buses.”
So, is this a driver problem? If so, I haven’t had any luck finding the right drivers for rom drives.
Any suggestions? I’d appreciate any help. Thanks

Yep, by copying to the hard drive first, you should be able to burn to the new cd at a much faster speed too.
