I keep getting this "TRD ww" error message on shutdown. It gives me a END NOW screen and sometimes it will shutdown when I click end now..but other times it wont shut off until I just manually turn the power off. I have tried system restore but the program doesn't work. It wont take me back at all to any earlier date. Is there any file I need to reinstall or do I just need to reinstall XP or format my drive?

I am guessing you have Microsoft Works installed. If that is correct, that would explain the TRD error. Check microsoft web site for fixes. As for going back in time; there are registry files located on your windows\repair directory that were created the last time you made a backup disk or (if no backup disk was made) when you installed XP. Boot to your WinXP cd and use recovery console to rename the software file in windows\system32\config to software.bak and copy the software file from the repair directory. Reboot to the system partition and you are back in time - try not to run into yourself.
