I have a laptop that I use for work. The company that issued the laptop to me is bankrupt, so there is no hope of support from IT. I foolishly changed it from domain to workgroup without understanding the problems that would cause. I solved the lockout issue yesterday with help from this forum, but now I still have another couple problems.

1. I can't access my Outlook Express Identity, so all my e-mail and addresses are not accessible to me.

2. If I create a local user other than Administrator, I can't open any of my office documents.

What I want to do is copy my old domain profile to a local profile. Is that possible? If not, I can live with staying logged in as administrator. But, is there at least a way to recover my outlook express identity, or messages, or addressbooks?

Thanks in advance.

Doug, Take a look at the two following MSKB articles and see if they might help at all.

Well, its been a stressful weekend, but all is well. And there is a first time for everything--a targetted ad at this site just happened to offer a free program that easily and painlessly did exactly what I needed.

Doug,

It looks interesting. Got it downloaded and will give it a try at work tomorrow.

Thanks,
Ron
