Hello, Im in need of help with my computer. Toshibe Tecra 8000. I do know a fair amount of information on how the computer operates. So heres my problem- Right now I have windows 2000 pro. I would like to upgrade it to Windows XP. I tried going into the computers BIOS and restarting the computer so it would boot the CD- ROM first but it never read the cd. Im not to sure how to go about doing so. Please help me to reformat my computer and help me put Win XP on it. Thanks, Garret

Try hitting F12 when you first boot up. Just keep tapping it repeatedly until a boot menu comes up. Then select the CD-ROM and hit enter (after putting the XP CD in of course).

i have a tecra 8000 and when it shows the toshiba label at start up, hit esc then when it asks hit F1 and that will get u to the bios. just as a note, you might not have enough ram to run xp.
