Hi,
Has any one here tried upgrading the Tosbiba 440CDX to run windows 2000 pro? I am desperate to give this a try but I want to know about any compatiblility issues involving hardware, are there drivers for this laptop in windows 2000 if not where can i find them?
Thanks

This type of research is well and good, but it's a waist of time. Along the path of searching, you may find some of your hardware is not supported and by the time you think you are finished you would probably wrong, as many manufacturers are posting new drivers every day. Microsoft has a compatibility page that you can access from their main page on Windows 2000.

My advice is this. Update the motherboards BIOS. You can get the current version from the motherboard manufacturers website. If they offer BIOS that says it is for the current Windows version then there is a chance in the HIGH 90% that your system will support Win2K.
