Hi,
I've been using tight VNC for sometime and it was running very well until today when I tried to connect to a remote PC (with in my LAN) it started to give me the following message: "Failed to connect to server". I have 6 PC's connected through LAN and I couldn't connect to any of the PC's. So I reinstalled the program on all PC's (physically) and when I tried to connect it gave me the same error msg??
- All PC's are running Win 2000
- I'm using a Router (Conexant-EZ Touch)
- I am the administrator and can view all files on other pc's through "My Network Places".
Any help will be appreciated ..

Cheers ...

did you check to be sure the VNC server service is running on the host machines?

When you connect to another machine do you use the computers name or ip? If it's the name and you have dhcp enabled the Tight VNC may be referring to a cached source for the ip address of the machine you are trying to connect to. The ip's for each machine may have changed (depending on boot order), therefore using incorrect information.

Just a thought. Try using the ip address instead of the comp's name.

If the service's are running on both servers and clients okay, and the network connections are okay (can you ping the machines?), and your using the correct request info then i don't know what else it could be, Sorry!

I am assuming you haven't made any changes to do with firewalls and so on.....

Hey Guys, I thinks I solved the problem "I THINK" ..
Here's how it happened:
I right clicked the (winvnc) icon in the system tray and chose (kill all clients)
then I double clicked the (Tightvnc viewer-Listen Mode), entered the IP adress and the password as usual ... and it worked.

Thanks anyway guys for your help really appreciated.
