Hi,
I'm having some network problems here. Whenever i try to access a computer on the workgroup, it says "The network name cannot be found". I tried accessing the computer using \\192.168.2.100\c$\, \\machinename\c$\, i tried via explorer etc. When i try with the IP it would bring up the login window where i can type the login/password to connect to the machine, tho it would pop-up the message "The network name cannot be found" afterwards.
So far i tried rebooting the computer, switching workgroup/machine name, i looked up for the users to be there, verified the share to be enabled.
Note that if i try to access the machine through explorer, i get the following error message, "The network path couldn't be found".
Any clue what could be related to this ? We changed nothing on the server, and this problem started.
Also, i can access to some machine on the network without any problems, they're all mounted on the same OS, same software etc. So basically, we didnt touch to both machines, yet one is fine, and the other one is f*cked.
Regards,
Eric

Sounds like the share permissions on that particular machine are denying you access.
Soylent Green is PEOPLE!!!

If you have only windows 2000 or you also have Windows NTin ur Environment?. If you are trying to login in some desktops or you are trying to login in Server? What is the Server OS?.
If you can ping that IP address?
Answer these Questions and definetly you yourself find the Solution.
Cheers,
Saba
