Hi Folks
I have a strange error that happens periodically, oft when the PC is unattended for a short period of time. I get the blue screen of death with the message, .......... physical dump of memory.
I was wondering if anyone knows why this happens. Is it a hardware fault, or a Software fault. I have read the Event Log error report , it says the following:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x698cb774, 0x00000006, 0x00000000, 0x80067956). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini022005-01.dmp.
The only thing I've done recently, is move adaware personal se to the start up menu, but I've introduced no new hardware to the PC for about a year.
I've checked the insides of the PC and don't see anything amiss.
It's an intermittent problem which is more irritating than of great annoyance, but I'd be grateful of any advice anyone could give or suggestions as to a course of action.

Usually memory dumps are associated with faulty memory. If you can get access to similar memory, swap it and see if the problem is resolved. Another way is to remove half of the memory and see if the other half works. If it does, then check the other half by swapping it with the memory that you had removed. Alternatively get technical help to check your memory out. There are also programs that you can download to test the memory. One of them is at http://www.freshdevices.com/memory.html Hope this helps.
