Terminal Services Time-out setting

In Terminal Server Configuration, you can set the idle time, and either disconnect or end the session- if you pick end the session, does it behave like a "normal" logout- closing programs, etc?

I may be wrong here, but.... I don't think ANY of those will be able to close a program. What if a user has a data file open that they've made changes to? Does it save it or not? Closest thing you can get is that it will terminate that instance of the session and programs. End session will terminate. Disconnect will leave things running allowing the user to log back in and continue where they left off (theoretically).....
