Hi,
We are running a Windows 2000 Terminal Server with 20 Terminal Services CAL Token (per device) licenses. We are connecting this Terminal Server from Unix Clients using a Citrix Metaframe. It seems that only 20 Clients can access the terminal server. When people are logging off from the metaframe, Windows 2000 Terminal Server doesn't release the licenses so that no one else (exept the original Client who has used a license before) can access the Terminal Server.
Do we have to use 'Internet Connector Licenses' to work with a Citrix Metaframe and Users are connected from a not Windows based environnement??
Anyone who got an idea or expieriences with this kind of 'way of working'.
Thanks and cheers
Wim

Windows Terminal server licenses are per pc, not per connection. Once a license is taken, it's gone. It is not released when the connection is dropped. It is not a concurrent type of license.
You need a license for every use that will connect to the server. If you have 'old' licenses you can release the old licenses in the License Manager. It's been a while since I've done that and when I did it, you had to contact MS for that. I think there may have been some changes to that with SP3 but I can't be certain. You may want to look in License Manager and/or call MS about it.
Good luck.
Glen
