When I Try To Backup Files On A Tape Drive Through NTBackup (The Default Win2K Backup App) I Get An Error Messsage: "Required Media Missing. There is no unused media available with the selected type. Add unused media or click Cancel to select another type. Note: It may take up to 60 seconds for Removable Storage to recognize new media" It's A Win2K Server With SP4 The Tape Drive Is "Seagate DAT 9SP40-000 SCSI" And I'm Using A New Out-Of-The-Wrapper 4mm 150M DDS-4 Imation Corp Tape, I Gave The Drive A Few Minutes And Tried Again But I Always Get The Same Error Message.
My personal preference is an unmanaged backup set as it doesn't require labeled tapes. However, to add the /um switch I've always found it best to copy the command into a batchfile and add it there. Then schedule the batchfile to run.
