I just installed Win2k drivers for my HP ScanJet 5200C Scanner. Now, every time I start Windows, the C:\WINNT\System32 folder opens automatically. Does anyone know how I can prevent this from happening?

Try this, when the folder opens up automatically, close it down with the"X" then go to desktop, right click "my computer", explore. Then go to tools/folder options/view and uncheck "remember each folder settings" click apply, ok, Then repeat this, but put a check mark in "remember each folder settings", click apply again, and close down explorer. restart explorer...does it still do it?

I have experienced the same problem in Win2k and XP. My problem was caused by a null entry ("") for a string value in the registry. Try opening regedit and go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Look for an entry with "" as the value and just delete it. This should prevent the problem from happening if this is the cause on your PC.
