One of my systems cannot connect to the Internet. It can, however, connect to the network. I changed nothing in my router configuration. It happened after my ISP assigned me a new IP. I called them up and after 15 minutes of help they told me to do some detective work to find out what was disabling me from accessing the Internet. Tell me something I don't know. Anyway, it's not my router as I can connect with my other system. It's not my virus scanner as I disable the virtual firewall, which seemed to cause other trouble on the system. I even connected the system directly to the Internet and it still wouldn't connect. Yes, I ran a full system scan and found nothing. What in the world could it possibly be? Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem yesterday. My
winsock was corrupt, and a member
refered me to this site. It fixed my problem
immediately. hope it helps you.

Thanks but it didn't work. I really don't feel like paying $40/hr for some incompetant technician to "fix" my computer only to end up formatting it after several hours of unsuccesful work. So if anyone can help me, I would really be greatful.

Ports 80 and 21 are apparently not working, incoming and outgoing. As I wrote before, nothing has been changed in the router configuration.

I would attempt removing all your network protocols and re-installing as they can sometimes be corrupted.

Also check that you have manaually changed your IP to the new one, that the settings you changed have taken effect.
