is it posible to get windows 2000 to boot that had been installed on one system to boot on another by swaping the drive over ??
Its posible with win9x in safe mode but windows 2000 just keeps rebooting also in safe mode

If the hardware in the two machines is identical it will work, otherwise, as you've discovered, it won't. You could try running a repair on the install...that should work...but if you do, you'll encounter the same problem when you put the drive back in the original PC.
