is it posible to get windows 2000 to boot that had been installed on one system to boot on another by swaping the drive over ?? Its posible with win9x in safe mode but windows 2000 just keeps rebooting also in safe mode

If the hardware in the two machines is identical it will work, otherwise, as you've discovered, it won't. You could try running a repair on the install...that should work...but if you do, you'll encounter the same problem when you put the drive back in the original PC.
Summary: I have a presario 17XL360 notebook , it was working great till I've installed windows 2000 pro .. Modem is not detected "Conexant V9.0 HSF" , and the future bay for swaping drives is also unfunctional...
Summary: I am running a WinNT 4 domain controller on a network which included a Win2k server. I cannot reach the mapped drives on the Win2k server from any of my win98, win2k pro clients.....it says cannot fin...
Summary: I cannot figure out why windows won't let me format my Western Digital external hard drive. I open "My Computer," click on the HD icon and click "format." I try to use FAT32 and the formatting seems...
