Has anyone every seen this error before on a win2k pro system? svchost.exe application error software exception error 0xc5560f764. It occurs before the ctrl-alt-del screen comes up while the network connection is being prepared. This problem causes all sorts of other issues; services won't start, applications, event viewer can't be viewed. This is the 2nd time this has happened to with no apparent reason. The only thing that has been consistent is that it has happened on Mondays. I've completely redone my system 2 times. Any ideas???

This is definately indicating a problem with this applications installation. When does this occur (assuming you are able to reinstall and get it working 100% to start with) that svchost.exe breaks?
Svchost is a generic DLL execution utility, so any application that requires Svchost's assistance could be bombing.
check msdn.microsoft.com and search for svchost.exe. There are some articles with known issues for certain applications, but nothing too widespread that I remember.
