Hopefully someone can help me with this problem!!!
After about 10-15 mins after my computer is turned on I get an error message that reads "svchost.exe program error. You will need to restart windows. An error log has been created" This happens regardless if I am connected to the internet or not. Once this happens, half my applications do not work and MS Office and Outlook do not work correctly.
I have tried to download and run the MSblaster fix from Symantec twice, and both times it says it has removed the worm, but the problem persists. I then proceed to get the patch from Microsoft, but I run into download problems because I don't have the SP2 dowloaded, so I proceed to download that and I run into additional download problems!
Please help with this problem, it is very frustrating.
Thanks

You are likely getting reinfected every time you connect to internet....either install a firewall or you can use the port filtering within win2k
Instructions on how to do that are in this link as well as how to deal with the worm.

In addition to the above, have you made sure the registry entry has actually been deleted as well as searched for the file msblase.exe including hidden folders and shares:

This is only step 5 of Symantec's manual removal process but you might take a look at your registry to make sure it's all gone.
--------------
CAUTION: Symantec strongly recommends that you back up the registry before making any changes to it. Incorrect changes to the registry can result in permanent data loss or corrupted files. Modify the specified keys only. Read the document, "How to make a backup of the Windows registry," for instructions.

Click Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.)
Type regedit

Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.)

Navigate to the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

In the right pane, delete the value:

"windows auto update"="msblast.exe"

Exit the Registry Editor.
-------------
Good Luck!
Vanessa

So many folks having the same problem. I wonder if everyone is searching properly?
ANYWAY...follow URL and look for F-Lovsan.zip. This is a fix for the MBlast Worm. Nasty as it may be. All the fixes are on this page. Recommend saving to Favorites for future use. Works for me every time.
