Search for a worm infection using an updated anti-virus. In particular, look for a worm called Welchia or Nachi. I had a similar problem and come to find out, my network contracted the worm the day prior.

No offense faisalmalik, but I would suggest all of the readers get the files they need for the worm/virus removal at a trusted source. The removal instructions are quite simple and there is no reason to email anyone else. If the users have any questions they can post them here and I or someone else will answer. Get the files you need here:

Go to the MS windows update site and download and install all the security patches available. Then go to Norton site download fix tools for Welchia, Blaster and Nachi worm and run them.

PS
That welchia is a intelligent worm. Without the patches provided by microsoft, you will not be able to remove it from your system.

In the future if you are running new OS like XP, 2000 w/ SP 3 or higher, always keep your computer uptodate. Due to RPC Vulnerabilties any worm can get into your computer pretty easily.

Forgot one thing. If it is a Blaster worm you will not be able to go to the windows update site. If that is the case then email me with your operating system and service pk info.
Good luck
