I had exactly the same problem - every time i ran internet explorer i got a svchost.exe error. then i was not able to cut past etc and ended up restarting my computer. However I downloaded agnitum outpost firewall (free) and don't get it anymore. Hope it works for you.

you got the blaster worm virus ever thought about protecting your pc with a anti-virus? Install the patch from microsoft. update virus DAT files for the anti-virus program and restart after it your pc then you're fine again
