System hangs and will not enter the suspend mode. Power Options are configured for suspend as well as the Bios settings. The monitor will shut-down at a specified time when configured in Power Options... However I must reset the settings each time after rebooting.

Leave suspend mode alone. It was originally created for laptops and such and has never worked worth mentioning on PC's in my personal experience. I just use the "sleep" mode in power options. Set your monitor and hard drive(s) to sleep after whatever amount of time you prefer and then all you need to do is shake your mouse to have the system come back up. Unlike suspend or hibernate, this works well on PC's and saves on energy and also keeps you from shutting down/booting up all the time.
