I've searched the FAQ and various topics regarding my problem, but no one seems to have the same exact problem as me. Last night I uninstalled a game from my computer, and proceeded with shutting down the computer right after. However, when I tried to boot the computer up the next morning, it loaded normally until the "Starting Up..." screen, the blue loading bar got to around 70% done, and I waited about 20 minutes and it did not make any progress. So I turned off the computer and opened it up, seeing it to be very dusty. I cleaned it up but it did not change the situation at all, same problem. Although, I did notice that after several attempts of turning the computer off and turning it back on it would stay stuck at the end of the "Starting Windows" screen, but turning it off and back on would get rid of that problem. I've also noticed that the hard drive seems to make noise during the start up but then when it stalls on the screen it seems to not make any noise at all, as well as the motor seeming to slow down as far as I can hear. I am currently typing this from my daughter's computer, but my personal computer has many files which I need and are not backed up.

Thanks for your time and help!

If you'd like to know any more of my computer specs or anything that would help you diagnose my problem, please post...

If u had loaded a game and its not starting again,try using "LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION",ELSE TRY REPAIRING IT ,BY USING A BOOTABLE CD.

ELSE

AS U SAID THAT HDD IS MAKING A SOUND ,IS IT THE CLUTTERING TYPE OF SOUND.
U CAN DO ONE THING,BOOT FROM A CD ,
SELECT REPAIR OPTION
RECOVERY CONSOLE
TRY USING THE COMMAND --chkdsk

it will check and repair the disk

let me know
