...still freezes!

I'd like to thank "mike" for his support and suggestions about my problems (I sent that "win 2000 crashes on games... and more!" a few days ago); I downloaded all those drivers updated to win 2K (4 in 1 and miniport) but freezes still occour... plus, my modem is still recognized only if switched on at startup, whereas I could switch it on whenever I wanted with win 98 (my modem is a UsRobotics 56K VoiceFaxmodem). Is it normal (I think freezes are never normal, even though we're speaking of "dear" Mr. Gates' software, anyway...)?

I don't remeber the specifics or your system, what mobo, processor, etc are you running? Also, are all Service packs etc installed?

well, my processor is an AMD athlon 900 mhz, Ati xpert 2000 for graphic, SB live for sounds, 128Mb of ram... what impressed (and worried me) a lot is that another guy posted a message ("freeze DR: NEEDED") describing the same problems, and he has an Athlon 900 Mhz AS WELL... is that a hardware incompatiblity?

I know that you said that you installed all new 4 in 1's and miniport,etc but, EVERYTIME I have had that issue on the KT133 (A) chipset, installing them correctly fixes it. In addition to running setup in the 4 in 1's, are you also going to the appicable folders (win2k, agp, etc) and right clicking on the files within and selecting install? If not, you are only installing PART of the 4 in 1's....
