I have just bought a pc with windows 2000, I have installed several apps, my question is, how do I stop certain apps from loading at startup, this was simple to do in windows 98, but I cannot find that option in windows 2000.

use from the start menu administration > services. Here you can turn off some programs that you do not need, or look in regedit HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
