Comment:

On start-up, the Dell PC at home asks for our previous ISP's installation disk. As well, while the PC is starting up a picture from my son's collection appears before the regular desktop background appears. Any idea how to get rid of these two annoyances?

Have you installed a "msconfig" program to allow you to
control what programs are initialized at startup? If you have
you can check for the items that are your "bugs". If not a
msconfig program download that works fine for Windows
2000 is at this site;

Or you can download autoruns program from microsoft.

Let it scan, then do options, check all three options in turn. Then hit the refresh button. Find anything with the ISP's name in it, right click then delete.
