I am having issues loggin in. When I type in my user name and password, the system says "applying personal seetings". The next thing that happens is the systm goes to "saving your personal settings" and goes back to the login screen. Anyone ever heard of this problem?

wow, I have never seen anything like this before

My guess it could be a virus or worm...do you have an antivirus on your computer?

A long shot may be to boot into safe mode and see if you can tweak the settings to let you log in normally

May just be a flaw in your profile. Try using a different administrator user to log on. Browse to your profile e.g.

C:\Documents and Settings\YourName

copy all the My Documents and Desktop folder to a different location.

Now rename C:\Documents and Settings\YourName to C:\Documents and Settings\YourName_OLD or something like that

try logging on again

Can i ask if it is a legit version of windows server.

If you apply an activation hack, and then swap a HDD. The server will want to re-activate itself but the hack wont let it.
Therefore when you log on, activation will fail, and log you back off.

Don't ask how i know.

I read it somewhere!

Safe Mode?????????

Gavin

Does it do the same thing in safe mode? If so this is Userinit.exe corruption. The file is located in the System32 directory. Copy it from a working distro to your source. You should then be able to login.
