My computer has been over runned by spyware because of a music system called bearshare, downloaded by my son.I was trying to format the hard drive and reinstall windows but a measseage pops up that states : "Windows cannot format this drive.Quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using the drive and make sure that no window is displaying the contents of the drive and then try formatting again." : Do I have to delete everything in C Drive and then try formatting?I do not have Norton Virus currently. If I install it will it erase evrything bad.Spyware has gotten so bad that I try to check my mail it will redirect me to where it wants to.
Please help!THANK YOU.

You cannot format the drive with Windows on it if you're using it.

You must do this from a floppy disk.
