I tried to install a Lexmark Z51 printer on Win2000Pro (prior to knowing there were updated drivers for printer compatibility).
I ran a print job before rebooting (my oversight) and received an error stating that the spoolsv.exe application was creating errors and would be shut down by Windows and would have to be restarted.
How do I restart this application? I found the file in the c:\winnt\system32 folder but can't do anything with it.
I uninstalled the Lexmark Z51 hoping that would aid in a fix...no luck. I still receive the spoolsv.exe error message upon start-up plus when I go into setting and try to add a printer I receive an "Out of resources" error message that says, "Printer operation can not continue due to lack of resources. The print subsystem is unavailable.".

I would greatly appreciate any help someone might be able to offer.

Thanks,
Mark Brummer

I have the same trouble with a Lexmark 7100 printer. I have struggled with this problem for quite some time with out luck to find an answer... does anyone know the answer? The only solution that I have found in the past is to Reinstall Win2K... that is not always the best thing... when you have your system set to just how you like it.....
