I am confused on why this is occuring on one of my 2 computers.
Both computers have external speakers, on one of the computers I can increase the volume by using the volume knob on the speaker itself, while on the other computer the volume is controled by the volume control on the taskbar!! How do i get this speaker to also use its volume knob and not the volume control from the windows taskbar??

The volumn controls are in series. So you are using both, assuming you have the speakers connected correctly to the sound card. Usually a combination of both give the best results. Many Keyboards have special or hot keys to change volumn as well as pause, advance playlist, go back, mute, etc. My keyboard does all that and it is much more convienient than using a speaker volumn knob.
On the computer that doesn't work as you like, turn the taskbar volumn up about half way and then try the knob on the speakers. If you have two speakers with one cable going to the first, be sure they are plugged in right.

I think it has to do with the sound card on each computer. The speaker that works with the knob works with the taskbar volume as well. but the other speakers volume only works with the taskbars volume control.

That makes no sense. The volume control on the speakers is nothing more than a reostat. It has to have some affect. You may not have the wiring connected correctly.
Is this just two speakers?

2 speakers on this speaker system, a left and right. the left connects to the right, the right connects to the sound card. The right is the one with the volume knob and power button.
The volume knob does absolutely nothing, i put a cd in the computer and the knob did not do a thing. I raised the volume halfway with the taskbar volume control, then tried lowering/raising the volume with the knob, absolutely nothing happened.

I changed around the wiring in the back of the right speaker, and it finally works correctly, i can use the volume knob. There were 2 inputs (1 and 2) and another 3rd input, you would use one of these three inputs to connect to the sound card. The speaker was using the 3rd input, so i switched it to input 1, and it works.
Once you said that i might not have the wiring correct, i then decided to check the connections, thanks.
