Internet Explorer 6 has one service pack, which is indicated as installed. Windows 2000 Pro has four service packs. It appears this computer has SP4 installed. To sum up, there is no problem. Things are as they should be.

Yup, you have Win2000 SP4 installed along with IE6 SP1. As OtheHill put it, "there is no problem. Things are as they should be."

Well, your question was a bit newbish so I figured confirmation of OtheHill's response would be comforting. I'll not make that mistake again.

I beg to differ: "IE shows SP1 and in Windows Successful Updates it shows SP4 was downloaded. Any ideas on how to fix this???"

To me it looks like a simple question. I dont see any newbishness. Please be kind and let me know why do you think the question is from a noob. OR just asking a question makes someone a noob in your eyes.

The fact that you evidently didn't understand the difference between Win2000 service packs and Internet Explorer service packs indicates an unfamiliarity with these basic items.

Don't be so defensive. If you need help again folks may be reluctant to assist if you are going to be argumentative.

The reason is this reply by you. "I dont see anything new other than an endorsement of first answer. thanks by the way...."

Why would thank others for an answer to a question you did not ask?

Besides the handle (sig) is very similar.
