Hi,
I just installed Win2000 with SP4. I don't know if it is normal but in Computer Management>>System Tools>> Shared folders>> Shares stated that i share ALL my drive (C:,D:,E:, etc) and i have never configured to share them. Then, when I try to Stop Share there was a message that this folder is shared only for admistrative purpose only. It will be shared automatically if the server service stopped and restarted.
And I must deactivate them everytime i start windows.

SO: How can I deactivate them??

Thank you in advance

Hi,

First of all, this is nothing to do with SP4. System drives always have an admin share by default. If you're worried about someone gaining access, they can only do so using an admin username and password for your PC. e.g. From another PC on the network, Start, run, \\computer\c$ You would then enter the username and password. You can disable this by taking off 'File and Printer Sharing'. Your system still shows them as shared but you can't access them accross the network.

Hope this helps.
