sp3 - slow down internet?

hi, has sp3 been known to slow to internet connections? im only 56k but i have some boosters that were very fast, now after installing sp3 its slow and sluggish! Does any one know any good tweaks fo a 56k modem? Thanks

I posted this problem before. I had to reformat after sp3.. I dont recommend downloading this pack until all the bugs are out. If you look at other boards people are having the same problem.

Its probably the Automatic updater and Background intelligent transer service(BITS) services that are taking up your bandwidth. These can be safely disabled in Admin Tools -> Services.

I installed sp3 and then IE6 from IE5.5(SP2). I disabled the Auto Updater and BITS when I installed sp3. I am very happy with both sp3 and IE6. My system has never been faster. I have another unit with IE stripped out and no service packs.This system runs Mozilla 1.0 and the sp3 w/ IE6 beats it no problem.
