I had MS Office on both 98 and 2K Pro on the same system. I had to reinstall 2K and was trying to install Service Pack 3. Microsoft uninstalled my copy of MS Office (which was registered) and also Windows Installer. I can't get Windows Installer service to restart. Does anyone know how to fix this and also how to keep it from happening? They have done this to me before, and I'm sick of having to reinstall the entire system. I just got done reinstalling it a few days back! Please email me at ButterflyMaster2002@yahoo.com and advise. Thanks, Sharon

I'm assuming you have the Windows 98 and W2K on seperate partitions so they shouldn't be interacting. Also, you don't mention which version of Office you have. What I'd suggest you do is UNinstall Office, reapply SP3 and any other updates to the machine, then install Office, then go to the Office website and install any updates available (there are several). Because depending on your version of Office, the Windows Installer that came with it may be older than what is used with SP3, and you want to use the latest one (thus it uninstalls your Office related Installer and installs the SP3 related one).....
