Sound Blaster 16 PCI

I got a compaq presario 4764 and the sb16pci install says the sound blaster wasn't detected. however the install program updates drivers before installing software, and the sound blaster works and sound comes out but I still can't install the software.

win2000 probably already has the drivers. Some of my older hardware is installed by win without me doing anything.
