Hi sorry but what is hard drive? Is it ram? is it a mother board?? i need help because i have to go buy it soon

Hard Drive: n : (computer science) computer hardware that holds and spins a magnetic or optical disk and reads and writes information on it
Its usually a Grey box inside your computer with a flat ribbon cable attached to it and another cable that is for power, the ribbon cable has a red strip and the power cable has a red cable, when plugging them in the red strips face each other. it is about 3.5 inches wide .5 inches tall and around 6 inches deep.RAM: Random Access Memory, its where the operating system and programs are loaded into when they are in use - there are several kinds of ram, depending on the motherboard your going to use it with, DDR, SD are the two most common.
Motherboard: its the biggest PCB (Printed Circuit Board) inside the cabinet it is where everything else connects to it is also the most important device in your computer, i recomend the brand ASUS or MSI

the hard drive is where all your programs and data are stored as files.
when your hard drive crashes, you lose all your files. you should make backups on some other storage media, ie; cd-r, floppy disks, tape cartridge, some other hard drive, zip drive, etc, etc.

Thanks =D so i just take that out and replace it with new own i buy from a store? exactly like it is placed? thanks for responding ^^

yes
Think of it as a CD. Just bigger and faster. depending on the size it can store a lot of information on it.You can buy one from the store and replace it yes. But it wouldnt have any information on it like your operating system. So you would have to install your Windows 2000 or what ever OS you have on it again
Make sure you do try and back up important files you have on it

except that the new one will be blank, nothing on it.
you will have to install windows, and all the rest.
