Something eating up CPU resources

My Windows 2000 PC has been running well for many months, however it is now suffering strange delays and slowdowns. I have had to cancel my automated AVG scans, as they were running for 18 hours or more. I watched the scanning process and it would stick at random for up to a minute at a time. I opened up Task Manager, and under processes I see PFNetwork.exe and SERVICES.exe using up a huge amount of CPU. If I do a CPU usage check it's at 100% nearly all the time. It is on a LAN using TCP/IP and accesses the web through a proxy. What could be the problem? I have another Win2000 PC on the same network and it doesn't have PFNetwork.exe listed under processes.

I would suggest uninstalling the Freeweb Parental Control software. Either that, or disable it in the Registry so that it doesn't start up automatically.
Thanks Jennifer, I completely forgot this system had FW Parental Control installed on it! I don't know why it was using up so much CPU, but I've removed it and my system is back to normal now.
