Hi.I have installed and configured Win2k Server and have included the SMTO service for e-mail relay for specific domains to an internal Exchange 5.5 server. The server is configured with 3 valid IP addresses. When I configure DNS(ISP DNS Servers) on the server and attempt to send e-mail to any of these domains the SMTP service logs a resolution error in the Event Log.However, when I remove the DNS entries this does not and the e-mails are relayed. My problem is that with other SMTP/POP3 software I get "Maximum hops exceeded" on every e-mail sent.Does anyone know why this is happening? and how to resolve it? as the error messages are not informative.
