Hi,
I have set up a BBS that uses ASP with SMTP to contact members via email. The issue that I am having is that I get an error when attempting to send email to AOL members.

Event ID: 4000
Description:
Message delivery to the remote domain 'aol.com' failed for the following reason: An SMTP protocol error occurred.

I do not have this error with other services.

When a member Registers for the BBS they must confirm their email account by clicking a link sent to them via email. So aol members are unable to access this BBS.

I could really use some help on this one.

Thanks in advance.

The problem is that AOL does not use SMTP or POP3. They have there own protocol. To do it with AOL you need to use Hotmail or the like.
