SLOW Win2k to WinME Machine File Sharing

Ok I am TOTALLY STUMPED. I like to call myself a professional but this one has me hanging. I have a Win2k and a WinME machine on my home network. The Win2K uses a Dell onboard 10/100 nic card, the WinME machine is uses a 3Com 10/100 card. Everything was fine until yesterday. I did a clean install of the WinME machine and now the transfer rates between the two machines is absurd. I had to transfer a 10mb file and it wanted to take something like 30 minutes to do. However, here's the kicker, I have a cable modem attached to the hub and downloads from the cable modem to both machines is unchanged. Its just between the machines. If anyone has some idea about this please let me know. I would also be forever grateful if you could email me as well.

The half duplex thing sounds right... Also make shure that you don't have miscalenious protocols installed on your system. IPX/SPX if not used, are gona slow you down a lot.
