Slow DOS Application

Comment:

I am having a problem with a DOS application that is
resident on the server, accessed through a batch file that
is local on the workstations. I am using a program called
TAME to resolve the application taking up 100% of the CPU.

The problem is that the program starts to run really slow
after everyone logs into it (everyone being 5 users). I
am 99% sure the issue is not network related because even
if 4 people log out of the app, it still runs slow.
Checking the mem/cpu utilization on server/workstations
during slow peroids reveals nothing.

I would appreciate any help/suggestions on this issue.

Network Specs Below:

I am running:

One W2K Server SP2
1.2Ghz Athlon MP
512MB DDR Ram
No Active Directory

Five Workstations
W2k Pro
950Mhz AMD T-Bird
128MB PC133 RAM

Linksys Router/Firewall
Linksys 10/100 switch
CAT5 cable
all 10/100 NICs

I had a similar problem, found my solution with the Anti-Virus Program. In Auto-Protect, I had to uncheck the "Run or Opened" and that did the trick. (Leave everything else alone on the Anti-Virus)
