slow computer after 2000 install

last week i reinstalled my OS from scratch. after updating everything (files and programs) my computer is noticabley slower. i check my cpu usage in task manager and it jumps around alot, sometimes stays at about 100%. i havent changed overclocked anything so i'm just confused. my media player is lagging when i use it, and multitasking is a major pain now. any suggestions?

i know what you mean. personally it happened to me too the same thing. only one small thing was different on my side. i installed an add-on from a burning program and that was the prob as far as I know..not sure... but then i tried o remove it and kept on going the same way so i reinstalled everything but without the add-on... i'm not sure what's wrong there at your pc...i just gave you an idea of what might be...

oh yea and the 2nd and last problem was caused by an update to the service pack...these were the only 2 problems i had my system run slow after the full clean no files on any partitions...etc...
