Reply: (edit)You may want to take a look at the ACM Memory Management settings in your system's power control panel. Make sure this option is selected. Your BIOS should also be configured for power management *prior* to installing Win2k. If not, the option will likely not exist in the power control panel.

Reply: (edit)In 2000 there is a problem with Power Management - when I turn PM on, the computer restarts every time I shut my PC down or hibernate. Without PM (PM off) everything goes well.

Reply: (edit)I have the same problem on my WIn2k system. The problem first occured after installing SP1 on my system. I have tried all the options with APM settings and BIOS settings, but nothing, system still restarts instead of shutting down. The problem is present even after I removed SP1. If somebody has a solution for this, send me an e-mail. Thnx

Reply: (edit)I face this problem too. I just found out the reason why my PC restarts after I have shut down the PC. Actually there is an error in the shut down process and I enable the Automatically reboot if System Failure feature. It restarts whenever error occurs. That’s why. It is caused by the ZipMagic application. My PC able to shut down properly after I uninstall this application If you have enable the Automatic reboot if System Failure option, try to disable it to see is it the shut down error. I hope this info. will help
