Having a problem when trying to shut down W2K
Getting error message "TRd ww: C:\Progr...
...AdSubract... Application not responding. Then I have to click to stop the application. I have lost my ability to shut down without some interaction. There was a similar post on June 18 regarding ZoneAlarm and having the same "TRd ww" error.
I've checked the McAfee site for mention of any virus containing these texts.... help

Hi,
I don't know this application, but if w2k says "This application is not responding" then try to kill his own process before shutting down. You can also try to find from where this application starts to delete his automatic startup. Hope this will help.

I've also been having this problem on my Win2K machine. I believe it started after I installed SP3, but won't swear to that.
Task Manager does not show a process related to that name either before or after the failed shutdown attempt.
I see that I am getting a slightly different msg that those listed before my post. The title bar of the "End Program" window reads as follows:
"End Program - TRd ww:C\Program
Files\Microsoft Offic..."Too bad we can't make this window larger so we can see the rest of the path (nooooo, that would be too useful!)
The Event Viewer doesn't shed any light on the subject.
This machine has both Norton A/V 2002 and the Norton Internet Security package. It sits behind a Linux firewall. ZoneAlarm and McAfee have never touched this machine.
BTW: Ain't Computer Fun...?!!!!
:)
