After I reinstalled W2K (I had some serious system problems and had to go back down to 98 for a while), the computer wouldn't shut down. All the software exits out, the screen goes black, the lights on the drive faces of my machine go out, but the darn thing won't shut off. I didn't have this problem in W98, so I don't think it's the BIOS settings (I've checked them already) and I've even gone through MS troubleshooter (yes, I'm desparate). I have no idea what I'm missing here. Help!

it doesn't say "Okay to turn off the
computer?" It would seem that it is going
into sleep mode, instead, if you truly do
have APM in the bios enabled, and the APM
is setup in the control panel/APM.

My computer shuts itself off automatically... I never see a "okay to shut down" screen... the monitor is supposed to go black and the computer turns itself off three seconds later. If the computer truly is in sleep mode, I can't get it out.
