How and where do you set Win2K so that when you shut down, it shuts off the power to the CPU without waiting for the you can shut off power now, or something like that, window to come on before you can shut off the power? Is it in Windows or in the BIOS setting for power management? Thank you

Check your Advanced Power Managment In Control Panel Power Options. There is also a tweak you can use ( I haven't tried it and editing your registry IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.) The above being said. Here's a decent explanation I found that might help you. Good luck.

Well, your OS has to be installed with the ACPI option set in the BIOS if there is one. If it is not, then changing it after you OS is installed may mess up your OS. You can check under System Devices in Device Manager to see if you have any ACPI drivers installed. BTW, this is usually only available in ATX-style systems, not AT.
