Dear All,
Hi there.I have a 7 PC network in which one PC has Windows 2000 SP3 and rest all PC's have Windows ME.I use the PC with Windows 2000 SP3 to connect to the internet and share that over to the PC's on the network.
Recently my ISP changed the protocol from PPP to ML-PPP,which they say is better.I have a ISDN line which supports ML-PPP.
I have heard from some people that ML-PPP is all crap and they recommended me to use the PPP protocol.
Which of the two is better? Will there be any speed increment if I switch over to ML-PPP?
I have seen the option of multilink framing in the network properties. How does this multilink framing work?
Waiting for some posts.....
Thanks in advance.

Pranav.

I may be wrong, but multi link is for using more than one modem, are you going to get another isdn modem and use them at the same time to double your bandwidth?

If not, leave well enuff alone.

ML-PPP stands for Multi Link PPP. Unless you have redundant Terminal Adapters it won't do you any good.
But.... Unless you live way out in the sticks you are probably paying way too much for that ISDN line in comparison to a DSL or Business class cable connection. Either one of those would blow that ISDN speed out of the water and cost on the order of 1/4 the price.

Dear All,
Thanks for the fast reply.I tried clicking the "Negotiate multi-link for sigle connections" and when I connected to the internet then in the details box PPP multilink framing said "ON" and before this it would say "OFF".
This means my D-Link ISDN TA DMI-128 E is able to connect with ML-PPP.I want to know that is there any speed increment if I switch to ML-PPP,because I am now connected using ML-PPP and I am not feeling any difference in the speed.
Waiting for some posts...
Thanks...

Pranav.
