Several Questions.
Undeleting: I deleted a bunch of big files (however, only rips of my own MP3's -all I lost was the time needed to re-rip them). I first tried to undelete them. R-Studio could identify everything (impressive) but the demo file size limit (65KB) is a joke (I am too inexperienced to trick the Demo_version limiter somehow by modifying something). I found a few other undeleters but these were only for stand alone OS's (98, ME). I tried a "borrowed" Norton System Works 2002 but this claimed that their undeleter (not the "Goback") again could only be used for stand alone (98, ME).
Three questions arise.
1. Does anyone know of a good shareware undeleter for Win2K without stingy file size limits?
2. Should I move over from Win2K to ME. I am impressed how stable W2K is but I am sick of the hogging of RAM and HDD space (this leads to my next questions). What are the pro's and cons of W2K versus ME (or a good www that covers this).
3. I am interested in trying out an alternative shell for W2K (or ME, if I go that route). I do not use any of the Windows stuff (IE, outlook Expr, win media player, netmeeting, front page, etc, etc). I block all IE traffic via the firewall, anyway. I occ. use "windows explorer" a little but prefer Windows commander for most stuff. I have heard things like 98Lite & Geoshell are good for this (but they have no Win2K version, back to my question, "should I switch to ME". What are the the pro's and cons of an alternative shell (or a good www that covers this).
Would add that I am only interested in "shareware".
Thanks for any input.
