I have a question I have a client that is running server 2000.
I am trying to setup a copier machine that does scan to folder. When we created the shared folder by default in the permissions tab "Everyone" is listed same applies for security if then we add a user and give that user full rights (by the way the user is the user name and pass the copier machine uses) the moment we remove the everyone entry the copy machine cannot get into the folder it prompts us for user name and password although they are correct.
The other thing is we need to isolate this folder so that only those that are given permission can see the contents of the folder and not everyone on the network. How should this folder be shared so that the copier can communicate and authorize users only can access it. I know it has something to do with "everyone" entry that giving me problems

unless the copier machine are under the domains you need to give access to everyone on the folder.(If existe some other way i don't know). Regardig the permision to the folder we have on the past something similiar here and we create a folder to each user who need the scan machine, after that they move his information to a public or no share folder.
